In the beginning, there was CHAOS. It is said that the wolven god Llyr grew enraged at his mate, the wolven goddess Astroth, for bestowing free will upon her children, the wolves of the earth. Free will meant to Llyr, that his followers could follow another path, and being a selfish soul, Llyr could not allow this to happen. He argued furiously with his mate to take her childrens' power back, but Astroth refused. She believed that her children deserved the freedom a true wolf desired, not to be bound by their limitations. Llyr disagreed, therefore sparking the most infamous years in the history of the wolf. The two gods of the wolves fought for years, relentlessly attacking one another with their own divine powers. Blood flowed like the mightiest of rivers between the two, and the casualties of their armies mounted until it came down to just Llyr and Astroth. The wolven gods. When they clashed, it was catastrophic. Night was endless upon the earth, and severe storms constantly ravaged the landscape. This fight raged on for ten years. This period of time is known simply as les somber durée d'exécution. Or the Somber times. Llyr managed to strike Astroth down, slaughtering her armies and eventually killing her. The wolves of the earth, Astroth's children mourned her death, but as word of this came to Llyr, he instantly punished those who mourned. He punished all the wolves of the earth. He brought upon them an endless winter, with heavy snows and thick ice. He killed off their herds so that they had to survive only on what they could find. He struck down the weak, he struck down any who disobeyed him. Soon, the wolves of the earth were forced to submit under Llyr's rule. This is Somber. This is only a year after Llyr's vicious affliction upon this earth. This is a living hell. Can you survive? Or will you be one of the many casualties?QUICK LINKS the rules. the wolves. the biography form.
The Aleashu Forest is home to the wolves of the Dokkur Pack. This stretch of woodland spans on for ten miles, consisting of mostly pine trees. The trees here are so thick, that sunlight barely penetrates the canopy. Food is scarce here, and the only food sources avaliable are small rabbits, or recently deceased carcesses. Ravens and crows are in abundance here, always looking for a food source, be it a rare deer that a wolf killed...or a dead wolf. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
This once mighty river runs straight through Dokkur territory. It's also known as 'verglas rivière', or black ice river. Why, you ask? The river's waters are very deep and dark in color, making the water appear black. Ever since Llyr cast his curse upon the land, causing the endless winter, most of the river is frozen. Only a few spots of it remain unfrozen. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
This is a wide open space on the far west side of Dokkur territory. It used to be a lush green meadow, with wildflowers blooming from every crevice, gorgeous maple trees dotting the landscape. A few old statues of angels dot this place, left here by humans from long ago. Now, everything about this place has changed. It's blanketed in a layer of thick snow, the wildflowers dead, the maple trees bare and desolate of everything except crows and ravens. Before Llyr's affliction, the meadow was called Echdae Meadow, but now it is called The Meadow of the Fallen, due to its cold, eerie facade. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
The Temple of Astroth is located deep in Dokkur territory. It's actually the ruins of an old castle, but the wolves regard it as a very sacred place. Although Astroth has died, wolves of all alliances come here to pay their respects to the fallen goddess. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
The Banrotha Caverns are just a few miles away from Astroth's temple. If you walk a ways from the temple, you'll see a big rocky hill, and in the side of that, you'll see a huge cave that goes right into the hill. If you go inside, you'll find it to be breathtaking. Water sparkles in a giant pool deep inside the caves, and this water basically is the only unfrozen water in the whole land. Bats flutter around in here, so watch out for them. This place is one of the most depressing, woeful places you will ever set your sights on. The forest in which the Avvasigh pack lives was once a lush, plentiful place packed with deciduous trees and many creatures to keep the pack full and happy. Since this stifling winter, everything has died. The deer herds that used to move through here have died, the trees lost their leaves and have become blanketed in snow, and replacing the happy songbirds are the starving birds of death. Yet, somehow the wolves of Avvasigh survive here. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
Sryil Lake is a rather small body of water in Avvasigh territory. Its' waters are frozen, so in order for the wolves of this pack to get any water at all, they have to find some way to break the ice. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
Although this land holds no mountain range, one towering mountain resides in Avvasigh territory that can be seen for miles around. This is Alteria Peak, sometimes called 'the haunted place' by pups. This place is gray and melancholy, snow blanketing the peaks of this mountain. Pine trees dot the sides of the rock, and ravens constalty circle the vicinity. Alteria Peak is said to be haunted by the spirits of Avvasigh pack members, their souls restlessly roaming the mountainside. It is said that their mournful howls can be heard in the wind. The Dehoni Glade is a gorgeous place placed in a small woodland in Avvasigh territory. It's a big open space, a giant weeping willow tree in the center. It's dead though, but it does have some very beautiful qualities to it. This is one of the few places with an open sky in Avvasigh territory. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
The Keltor Pass is located just outside the Ardren Forest. It's a long winding stretch of path, similar to that of a human's road. It goes on for about ten miles, and finally ends where the land of the lowly vagrants begins. Usually, Avvasigh wolves will come here to hunt, or perhaps just to take a nice, long walk. Be careful at the Morer Cliffs. In the territory of the vagrants is a gorge. The Morer Cliffs drop off into that gorge. This place was once a beautiful place, like so many of the other places in this land, but now that ice has covered it, it is no longer beautiful...but deadly. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
The Tree of Hinroth is easily the biggest tree you will ever see in your life. This pine tree stands at least fifty feet high, with thick sprawling branches. This tree is found on a small hill, the only tree found in this desolate land for miles. It is named after a legendary wolf named Hinroth. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
The Lorryna Plains is a vast stretch of open land that goes on for miles. Deer and caribou herds used to travel through here. Now, you will only see a few deer and a few rabbits. I don't reccommend staying in this place for too long. The exposure to the bitter wind and cold could kill even the toughest of wolves if it had the chance. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
It's strange, you see. If you enter vagrant lands, you see nothing but flat plains. If you travel deeper into this dangerous territory, you'll see a big plateau jutting up from the ground. From the ground, it looks huge, but it's really not that big. I don't even reccommend trying to scale this plateau, seeing as there's a layer of ice coating everything. Thisplace is also a gathering spot for all the ravens and crows in the area...Rather vicious birds they are. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
During The Somber Times, lightning storms constantly ravaged this area of the land, as we all know. The lightning got paticularly bad in this region, however. The trees here are eternally damned by Llyr, their trunks blackened, their branches fatally split. A huge oak tree, once a landmark for some of the vagrants traveling through here, was struck down, its huge truck black with burns, large twisting branches fallen to the snow. Tragic, really... Moderator: `kylok [tae]
Even in the heavens of the gods and goddesses, there are forests and trees, such as those of earth. This sprawling forest is gorgeous, huge oak trees clustered all around, their healthy leaves glimmering in the sunlight. This is a paradise, where all wolves of earth eventually want to go. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
Located just outside of the forest, is the Labyrinth of the Divines. All the gods, goddesses, and their pups reside within this natural maze. When you first see the layrinth, there is a huge arch, made by two tangled trees. Enter that arch and you'll find yourself within a maze of huge grasses, wildflowers, and trees. If you manage to find your way through this place, you'll find yourself face to face with the wolven divines themselves. Moderator: `kylok [tae]
